NEW DELHI: Uncertainty over who will head the largest PSU oil firm - ONGC - is set to fade with government verging on finalising the appointment of RS Sharma as the company's chairman and managing director. RS Sharma had taken over the charge of acting CMD of ONGC with effect from May 25, 2006 after the completion of Subir Raha's five year tenure.
RS Sharma is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India and also an Associate Member of the Indian Institute of Bankers.

Sharma joined ONGC Board as Director (Finance) in March 2002. He is also on the Board of ONGC Videsh Ltd. (OVL the biggest Transnational Corporation of India, operating in 13 countries), Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) - another subsidiary of ONGC, ONGC Mittal Energy Services and IOC. Under his financial stewardship, ONGC has achieved many laurels in financial management. ONGC has also emerged as the Most Valuable Indian Corporate, in terms of m-cap, net profits and net worth.
